Administrators advise that while our vendor is working toward a resolution of this issue (affecting users of Chrome version 86.0 and later), no timeframe for completion has been communicated. This alert will be closed at this time with the workaround that impacted users are meanwhile advised to continue to use Microsoft Edge, or downgrade to a previous version of Chrome when attempting to create or execute reports in Cognos. This workaround has been documented in our Known Error Knowledge Base in KB# 7366 “Known Error: Cognos Users on Chrome Version 86.0 (or Higher) Unable to Create or Execute Reports”, searchable at ITHelp.IllinoisState.edu.

Administrators have identified an issue when using Cognos with the latest version of Google Chrome (version 86.0 and higher); reports cannot be created nor executed, however no error is displayed. IBM is currently working on a fix, but no estimated completion date is currently known.

Workarounds - If you are experiencing the above issue, administrators advise users to instead use Microsoft Edge, or downgrade to a previous version of Chrome.
