Resolved - Canvas Outage

Incident Report for Illinois State University

Resolved

Canvas is back online after what the vendor reports to be a Ransomware attack against their company. We are closely monitoring updates from Instructure (Canvas).

As always, but especially at this time, remain on the alert for phishing attempts. Illinois State will communicate through official channels any further notifications. You should not respond to or click on links from any other source (i.e. in this case a direct message from Canvas, other vendor, or social media) or share passwords or any other sensitive information.

Instructors and students should log into their courses, confirm recently submitted assignments appear as expected, back up materials (including Gradebooks), and submit grades as soon as able. The university Canvas Outage page will be updated with any further guidance.
