Mail Server Performance Degraded

The Help Desk has received reports that some users are having problems with email. These intermittent problems appear to be affecting Webmail2, iCampus, and client-based email (like Thunderbird, Eudora, etc.). The system administrators are working to resolve these issues.

The email issues experienced earlier in the day have subsided. The system administrators will continue to monitor the mail system throughout the weekend.

When attempting to access iCampus, some users may receive an "Internal Server Error." The system administrators are aware of the problem and working to resolve it.

Campus Email Maintenance

Maintenance is being performed on the campus mail server from approximately 10 am to 11 am this morning. During that time, users may see slight delays in the receipt of email. No email is being lost in this process, just being queued for brief periods of time during the maintenance.

This maintenance work is now complete and mail delivery is running at normal speed.

While it is being performed, users may continue to see delays in the receipt of email as it is being queued for periods of time and then periodically released. The University Computer Help Desk has recieved reports that certain users are unable to check their e-mail. We are currently looking into the problem and will update this page when we have more information.

Maintenance on the mail server is now complete and full access to email has been restored for all users.

Campus Email - outgoing Maintenance

Outgoing email is temporarily unavailable while a performance problem is being addressed. It should be available again within 10-15 minutes.

We believe this problem has been resolved. CISS administrators will continue to monitor the system. If the status of this issue changes, updates will be made to this web page.

The Help Desk continues to receive reports from people who are unable to send email. This problem appears to be affecting all clients, including Webmail2 and iCampus. Previously, the Help Desk reported that iCampus and Webmail2 were working properly, but that is not the case.
