Mainframe Maintenance

Secure web transactions to the mainframe are currently unavailable due to the mainframe upgrade performed over the holiday break.

ADIN is currently unavailable, but is expected to be brought online this morning.

Update

The mainframe administrators continue to work on the mainframe upgrade. Some iCampus mainframe transactions, such as "Financial Aid", "Progress Toward My Degree", "My Registration Date", and "Optional Insurance" appear to be unavailable. The Help Desk is receiving calls regarding mainframe login issues as well. Documentation about the new CICS (and multiple CICS sessions) can be found at http://www.sys.ilstu.edu/docs/vtam.html. Questions and problems about the new mainframe system should be directed to the Mainframe Help Line at 8-3308.

Mainframe Maintenance

On 12/27/06, the mainframe will be unavailable for approximately 2 days. On 12/29/06, the mainframe is scheduled to be brought online with a new operating system. Barring any significant issues, the mainframe will be ready for normal use at the beginning of business on 1/2/07.

Mail Server Outage

The campus mail server has been unavailable since approximately 4:00pm 12/18/06. The system administrators are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it.

New Campus Voice Mail System Maintenance

The new campus voice mail system is temporarily unavailable. Activation of new voice mail accounts will not be available until it is back online. The current voice mail system is functioning normally. We expect the new voice mail system to be again available on Friday, 12/15.

Update

This maintenance is now complete, and the new voice mail system is back online. Accounts on the new voice mail system may now be activated, but it is no longer necessary to do so prior to January 1, 2007. Maintenance continues to be performed on the new campus voice mail system, temporarily preventing activation of accounts. The current voice mail system is functioning normally. This page will be updated when there is news to report on the new voice mail system.

Email Performance Degraded

Some users have reported problems accessing Webmail2 and iCampus email. Users have reported they are unable to log in to Webmail2. Users have also reported the email channel in iCampus times out and does not properly display.

Update

Performance on Webmail2 and iCampus email has improved. The system administrators continue to monitor mail server performance.
